Description

Join the Growth Platform team to build shared backend services that power incentives, experimentation, and personalization across Affirm's consumer and merchant experiences. You'll set technical strategy, define platform abstractions, and ensure reliability of business-critical growth systems.

Requirements

• 8+ years designing, developing, and launching backend systems at scale
• Experience with Python or Kotlin and distributed systems (AWS, MySQL, Spark, Kubernetes)
• Experience building shared platforms for rewards, loyalty, incentives, or experimentation
• Led complex technical initiatives requiring cross-team alignment
• Strong communication skills for global engineering collaboration

Responsibilities

• Set technical strategy and own backend platforms for incentives and growth
• Collaborate with product, analytics, and partner teams to shape technical direction
• Define platform abstractions, APIs, and architectural patterns for safe feature experimentation
• Ensure robust monitoring, alerting, and on-call practices for critical systems
• Foster code quality and develop talent through design reviews and mentoring
