Description

You will bridge the gap between Planet's platform capabilities and specific customer outcomes in key verticals like Defense Intelligence, Civil Government, and Commercial. By leading customer discovery, translating technical requirements, and managing agile execution, you'll help move Planet from selling raw data to delivering measurable value.

Requirements

• 6+ years product management experience, ideally in Earth Observation or geospatial analytics
• Bachelor's degree in related field
• Experience launching solution products (bundles of data, analytics, and services)
• Ability to translate complex vertical needs into clear engineering tasks and user outcomes
• Understanding of vertical market dynamics and experience assessing market size/viability

Responsibilities

• Lead customer discovery and feasibility studies to validate high-value use cases in CivGov, Commercial, and D&I
• Partner with Engineering and Data Science to decompose complex vertical requirements into specs, user stories, and backlog items
• Act as primary Engineering liaison for the pod, managing sprint planning and backlog grooming
• Define and deliver reusable solution building blocks within the Planet Platform to scale across customers
• Collaborate with Product Marketing and Sales to package technical capabilities into business narratives demonstrating ROI
