You'll own end-to-end research experiments at CAIS, from premise to publication, focusing on AI safety and large language models. You'll run distributed training and evaluations using our compute cluster, aiming to reduce real-world risks. The role stands out for its impact on mitigating societal-scale AI risks.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end research experiments from premise to publication.
• Train and fine-tune large transformer models across domains.
• Design and maintain datasets and benchmarks.
• Run distributed training and evaluation at scale.

📋 Requirements

• Master’s or Ph.D. in ML or related field with 4+ years research experience.
• Published multiple ML papers at top conferences.
• Familiarity with PyTorch and Hugging Face.
• Experience launching and training distributed ML jobs.

• Experience with AI safety or alignment research.
• Strong communication skills with remote teams.
