💼 About This Role

You'll set the technical direction for Embedded Instacart and lead architecture for the Partnerships platform. Your work will integrate Instacart into partner ecosystems like Airbnb and Grubhub, making new partner launches turnkey and scalable. This is a highly visible, cross-org role with direct partner-engineering exposure.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead architecture for the Partnerships platform across identity, cart, checkout, and partner orchestration
• Define clear boundaries and contracts between partner-facing and internal systems
• Drive transition from broad backend surface to a coherent, well-factored platform
• Identify repeatable integration patterns and convert them into reusable building blocks
• Drive cross-org alignment with Identity, Payments, Cart, Checkout, Fulfillment, and other teams

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years of experience as a software engineer building large-scale backend systems
• Proven track record designing platforms or integration frameworks for partner ecosystems
• Deep experience with distributed systems and APIs for user-facing flows
• Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers across levels (L4–L6 equivalent)
• Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with product, design, and external teams

• Comfort working in environments where strategy, architecture, and execution are tightly coupled
