💼 About This Role

You'll architect APIs for agentic and generative AI capabilities within Extreme's networking platform, defining standards for REST/gRPC and event-driven interfaces. You'll partner with AI engineers to ensure APIs are frictionless for consumption by AI/agentic systems and drive our Core AI foundation.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define and govern API standards across REST/gRPC and event-driven interfaces.
• Design APIs for Core AI integration layer with machine-readable contracts.
• Integrate Model Context Protocol principles into API design for AI interoperability.
• Partner with AI/ML teams to optimize APIs for agentic workflows.
• Champion Operational Excellence and Engineering Excellence for API lifecycle.

📋 Requirements

• BS in Computer Science or related field.
• 8+ years designing microservices and APIs; 3+ years driving API standards.
• Deep expertise with REST/gRPC and OpenAPI 3.1 / JSON Schema / AsyncAPI.
• Hands-on experience implementing MCP-compliant APIs for AI orchestration.

• Strong grasp of security for AI-integrated systems.
• Experience with dynamic throttling and adaptive rate limiting.
• Solid programming skills in Golang, Java or Python.
