Description

You will own the development, production, and operation of the Raptor engine ignition system, transients sequences, and associated hardware to start and shut down the engine in all phases of flight. You will drive hardware design, sequencing, and testing to enable safe and reliable engine operation for the most advanced full-flow staged combustion engine.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 1+ years with engineering programming and data review tools (Python, MATLAB, Winplot)
• 5+ years experience with rocket or jet engine hardware or high-pressure fluid systems
• Experience with compressible/incompressible flow, thermodynamics, mechanics, and materials
• Willingness to travel and work extended hours as needed

Responsibilities

• Own design, analysis, development, sequencing, and flight operations for Raptor ignition and transients
• Coordinate with peers across disciplines to achieve goals and hold teammates accountable
• Identify and drive hardware and sequence changes for simplification, reliability, and performance
• Establish requirements and develop test plans for hardware and engine transients
• Perform data review, analyze trends, and provide go/no-go calls for test and flight operations
