Description

As a Lead Cloud Engineer, you will help architect and operate cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, collaborating with teams to deliver cloud engagements while owning Azure platform operations and Terraform ecosystem management. You will drive operational excellence, manage incident resolution, and participate in on-call rotation.

Requirements

  • 4-year degree in technology or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years experience designing, administering, and operating production workloads in Microsoft Azure.
  • 5+ years experience with Infrastructure as Code and cloud automation.
  • Deep tooling experience with Terraform/OpenTofu, module creation and management, policy/guardrail application.
  • 5+ years experience with SDLC and working with Agile development teams.
  • Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (or higher) certification preferred.
  • Experience with Docker; familiarity with Kubernetes/AKS is a plus.
  • Nice to have: Python, GitHub Actions, Helm, Datadog, Artifactory.

Responsibilities

  • Prioritize referred incidents from Service Desk, Engineering/Data Science projects and provide problem resolution, managing vendor engagement and serving as escalation point.
  • Own and improve Azure platform operations including subscription/resource organization, RBAC/identity, networking, security, monitoring, and cost management.
  • Manage and improve Terraform ecosystem (Terraform Cloud/Spacelift, policy/standards, reusable modules).
  • Implement and enforce Infrastructure as Code workflows (code review, testing, CI/CD, drift detection, remediation).
  • Meet team SLO targets and collaboratively ensure team objectives are met.
  • Independently define, prioritize and execute project tasks for cloud infrastructure and solutions.
  • Document work and review Cloud Engineering team documentation for accuracy.
  • Contribute technical/procedural ideas to Cloud Engineering team operations and define/execute integration strategies.
  • Engage with other technology and infrastructure teams as necessary.
  • Own one or more cloud-related technologies including maintenance, upgrades, training, mentoring, documentation.
  • Participate in team on-call rotation.
