Description

As a Lead Product Designer at Alt, you will shape the core platform and create seamless, delightful experiences for users researching, managing, insuring, and leveraging their alternative-asset portfolios. You'll drive user-centric thinking, navigate ambiguity, and champion AI-first design while collaborating closely with product, engineering, and other stakeholders.

Requirements

• 8+ years of product design experience
• 5+ years of experience at a senior or higher role
• Deep expertise across UI, interaction, visual design, and content
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with Product and Engineering
• Mastery of Figma, animation, UX research methods, prototyping
• Experience designing AI-powered tools, agent interfaces, or prototyping workflows
• Portfolio showcasing strong design craft, process depth, and strategic thinking
• High curiosity, growth mindset, ability to adapt quickly
• Background in early-stage, design-centric, or deep-tech startups

Responsibilities

• Drive user-centric thinking: bring a high-craft, systems-oriented approach to problem-solving and experimentation
• Navigate ambiguity: break down open-ended problems and align cross-functional teams
• Operate across altitudes: work on loosely defined concepts and tightly scoped deliverables
• Turn insight into action: conduct research, synthesize findings, and translate into design directions
• Elevate the craft: lead design reviews, provide actionable feedback
• Champion AI-first design: design for and with LLMs, automation, and context-aware systems
• Collaborate deeply with Product, Engineering, Sales and other stakeholders
• Grow the Design System: spend about 20% of your time evolving and maintaining the Alt Design System
