💼 About This Role

You'll lead the end-to-end revenue recognition function under ASC 606 for Hootsuite, partnering with Sales, Legal, and FP&A. You'll ensure accurate financial reporting and strong internal controls across multiple jurisdictions. This role is open to remote candidates across Canada.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own monthly revenue close process for subscription, usage-based, and professional services revenue under ASC 606
• Perform SSP analysis and oversee allocation methodology for multi-element arrangements
• Review non-standard customer contracts and document technical accounting memos
• Manage direct reports including coaching, mentoring, and performance management

📋 Requirements

• CPA designation required
• 8+ years of progressive accounting experience with at least 2 years in revenue accounting in a SaaS or technology company
• Deep working knowledge of ASC 606 and its application to complex SaaS arrangements
• Proficiency with NetSuite or comparable ERP

✨ Nice to Have

• Public accounting experience in technology/software sector
• Experience with Zuora, Salesforce CPQ, or similar billing platforms
• Demonstrated ability to write technical accounting memos
