Description

You will own the mechanical design of propulsion system hardware for the highest-power electric propulsion system ever flown, from concept through production and flight. Working on a small multidisciplinary team, you'll define requirements, create concepts, perform analysis, develop test campaigns, and validate designs through prototype iterations and qualification.

Requirements

• Experience in mechanical design and analysis of propulsion or aerospace hardware
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, NX, or similar)
• Knowledge of structural analysis, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Ability to work in a fast-paced multidisciplinary team environment
• Hands-on experience with hardware development, testing, and qualification

Responsibilities

• Own mechanical design of propulsion system hardware including modules, thruster components, propellant management, avionics box, secondary structures, and tank development
• Validate designs through entire lifecycle from concept to production and flight demonstrations
• Generate 3D models, fully dimensioned drawings, and interface control documents
• Perform analysis on test data, iterate designs, and make critical go/no-go calls on hardware performance
• Develop and execute component and system-level test plans and manage key propulsion vendors
