💼 About This Role

You'll lead research agendas on information retrieval for agent components at Databricks. You'll drive algorithmic innovations for retrieval within large language models, advancing the state of the art. You'll encode your scientific expertise into products that make customers successful.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define and lead independent research agendas on Information Retrieval.
• Conduct experiments to validate hypotheses and benchmark against SOTA.
• Drive research and technical strategy for enterprise retrieval and search.
• Drive algorithmic innovations for Retrieval within Large Language Models.

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of PhD in Computer Science or related field.
• Strong foundations in Natural Language Processing and Information Retrieval.
• Experience developing methods that extend and improve model capabilities.
• First-author publications at top ML conferences (EMNLP, ICLR, ACL, NeurIPs).

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with Agent Benchmarks for retrieval.
• Experience with text-embeddings and LLM Data Quality.
