Description

You will own the design and technical direction of Beacon, a design system at Braze, writing production code in React and TypeScript, building automation and tooling, and mentoring designers. Your work will reduce fragmentation, improve accessibility, and future-proof the system for AI-assisted workflows.

Requirements

• 5+ years in design systems, design engineering, or highly technical product design
• Strong design craft judgment at the system level
• Fluent in React, TypeScript, component architecture, modern CSS, and semantic HTML
• Fluent in Figma including variables, design tokens, and token-to-code pipeline workflows
• Experience driving accessibility improvements at scale

Responsibilities

• Own design and technical direction of Beacon in partnership with Engineering
• Write production code for component architecture, tokens, and design-to-code pipeline
• Partner with frontend engineers on CSS architecture, semantic HTML, and WCAG compliance
• Mentor designers in accessibility, responsive systems, and implementation-aware design
• Build automation and tooling for system compliance and AI-assisted workflows
