💼 About This Role

You'll define the technical strategy and architecture for ML systems that power data discovery for autonomous vehicles at Motional. Your work will directly impact the autonomous driving stack by enabling discovery of critical edge cases in petabytes of sensor data. This role offers the chance to lead multi-quarter initiatives and shape department-wide technical direction.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define multi-quarter technical roadmaps for core ML systems.
• Architect scalable ML systems for data mining and real-time inference.
• Lead cross-functional projects across teams like Autonomy.
• Establish department-wide standards for ML system design and quality.

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years of ML engineering experience with large-scale systems.
• Experience with multimodal foundation models in production.
• Technical leadership: defining roadmaps and driving strategy.
• Expert-level Python and ML frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, or JAX).

✨ Nice to Have

• MS/PhD in Computer Science or ML.
• Background in autonomous driving or robotics.
• Experience with active learning and representation learning.
