๐Ÿ’ผ About This Role

You'll lead Knock's small but growing platform team, building and scaling core services and infrastructure. You'll own the team's roadmap and have high autonomy in shaping how we operate, reporting directly to the CTO. This is the first engineering manager hire and offers a chance to define the platform engineering culture from the ground up.

๐ŸŽฏ What You'll Do

  • Hire and build a high-performing platform team over the next year
  • Own the platform roadmap and prioritization balancing investments and delivery
  • Coach and develop engineers through 1-on-1s and stretch projects
  • Contribute to architecture decisions and write code strategically
  • Lead incident response and drive reliability improvements

๐Ÿ“‹ Requirements

  • 3+ years as an engineering manager in a startup or mid-sized company
  • Strong technical foundations in platform or infrastructure engineering
  • Track record of hiring, growing, and retaining excellent engineers
  • Experience leading on-call rotations and incident response for a high-availability service
