Description

Lead the development and scaling of PVD processes for high-efficiency solar cells used in Starlink satellites and Starship missions. You will own the lifecycle from greenfield plant setup to production ramp, optimizing for efficiency, quality, and cost.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering
• 5+ years experience in chemical engineering design or system implementation
• 7+ years hands-on PVD process engineering in thin-film solar, semiconductor, or display manufacturing (preferred)
• Proven track record scaling PVD to high-volume production (1GW/year equivalent)
• Strong understanding of vacuum systems, plasma physics, and thin-film characterization

Responsibilities

• Design, qualify, and optimize PVD sputtering processes for SHJ contacts at GW-scale volumes
• Lead process development for new toolsets and materials, including target management and defect reduction
• Develop, implement, and maintain manufacturing processes, equipment, and facilities
• Analyze production processes using first principles and statistical methodologies
• Perform machine activation and testing with a small team
