Description

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer at GILLIG, you will design and industrialize mechanical systems and components for heavy-duty transit buses, focusing on structures and suspension. You'll create and maintain BOMs, perform design trade-offs, and use CAD to develop robust designs, collaborating with cross-functional teams throughout the product lifecycle.

Requirements

• Fluent knowledge of sheet metal design (steel, stainless steel, aluminum fabrications, extrusions, castings)
• Experience with suspension, steering, and pneumatic brake systems
• Ability to review customer specifications and deliver chassis body structure designs
• Proficiency with CAD tools and engineering analysis
• Experience with BOM structuring and change control processes

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain Bills of Materials (BOM) for parts assembly
• Perform design trade-offs and optimization for manufacturable designs
• Use 2D and 3D CAD tools to create and release vehicle components and assemblies
• Use analytical tools for stress, vibration, thermal performance, and durability assessments
• Support designs through development, production launch, customization, and field support
