Description

You will perform all welds needed on structures, following instructions to ensure quality and maintain product flow. You'll use calculating skills with tape measures and operate moving machinery like cranes to manipulate steel structures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent preferred
• Ability to interpret blueprints required
• Ability to read a tape measure required
• Welding certification or prior welding experience preferred; GMAW experience preferred
• Certifications or prior experience using moving machinery, such as cranes, preferred
• Regular, reliable attendance is required

Responsibilities

• Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits
• Position, align, and weld parts to form complete structures following blueprints and layout specifications
• Recognize, set up, and operate hand and power tools common to welding
• Examine steel or workpieces to ensure specifications are met
• Move parts safely into position manually or with hoists or cranes
• Weld components in flat positions
• Operate manual welding equipment to fuse metal parts using gas metal arc process
• Clean welds with grinders and other equipment
• Examine work pieces for defects and measure with weld gauges
