💼 About This Role

You'll join Snowflake's Metadata team to design and build fault-tolerant distributed systems that manage exabyte-scale data for customers. You'll own features like cross-region replication and data sharing, directly impacting the Snowgrid platform.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and develop fault-tolerant scalable distributed systems
• Architect solutions for consistency, performance, and cost trade-offs
• Mentor and grow junior engineers
• Ensure operational readiness and meet durability, availability, and performance commitments

📋 Requirements

• 15+ years of industry experience in large-scale distributed services
• Strong computer science fundamentals including data structures, algorithms, and distributed systems
• Fluency in Java or similar object-oriented language
• BS in Computer Science; Masters or PhD preferred

• Excellent understanding of operating systems concepts like multi-threading and memory management
• Track record of creative problem-solving
• Ability to work across multiple engineering teams
