💼 About This Role

You'll own how The Economist is represented across LLM-based assistants and agent frameworks, ensuring accurate and responsible surfacing of journalism. This role defines retrieval schemas, grounding mechanisms, and citation protocols for AI-native platforms. You'll work at the frontier of product, engineering, and editorial integrity.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own the vision and roadmap for Gen AI and conversational platforms.
• Define schemas, APIs, and protocols for LLM content retrieval and grounding.
• Partner with engineering on retrieval pipelines and optimization strategies.
• Monitor emerging AI platforms and standards for opportunities and risks.

📋 Requirements

• Experience owning AI-powered platform or ecosystem-facing products with third-party intermediaries.
• Strong understanding of retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) concepts and LLM content handling.
• Ability to work on technically complex areas involving APIs, schemas, and evaluation.
• Domain knowledge of LLM ecosystems, conversational agents, and citation mechanisms.

• Experience with MCP-style integrations or tool/function calling.
• Familiarity with SEO and brand positioning in AI discovery platforms.
