Description

You will serve as the strategic backbone of regulatory and compliance operations, handling high-stakes interpretation of state insurance regulations while partnering with product and engineering teams to balance commercial goals with strict regulatory adherence. Your role includes overseeing insurance-related compliance, data privacy, cybersecurity, and payments, and utilizing AI tools to streamline legal research.

Requirements

• 4+ years legal experience focused on Insurance Law / Regulatory Compliance
• J.D. from accredited law school and admission to at least one State Bar in good standing
• Deep understanding of Property Casualty insurance regulations and producer licensing
• Strong analytical rigor to digest complex statutes and provide actionable business advice
• Comfort working with legal-tech and AI tools

Responsibilities

• Serve as subject matter expert for insurance regulatory matters, especially Property Casualty programs
• Manage multi-state compliance and interpret guidance from State Insurance Commissioners and DOIs
• Oversee corporate and individual agency licensing, renewals, and regulatory reporting
• Partner with business leaders to structure new insurance products balancing commercial goals with regulatory adherence
• Manage escalations where AI cannot make a determination, acting as human-in-the-loop reviewer
