Description

You will lead safety inspections of bridges and tunnels, coordinate with clients and agencies, and prepare condition reports. You'll also have the opportunity to work on bridge load ratings and designs.

Requirements

• Currently qualify for National Bridge Inspection Standards (NBIS) as a bridge or tunnel inspection team leader
• Ability to lead the work of others and maintain proper working relationships
• Knowledge of bridge inspection methods and procedures
• Experience with reporting procedures
• Flexible schedule to accommodate bridge access
• Physical capability to navigate steep embankments, confined spaces, and climb structures
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and working knowledge of AutoCAD
• Valid Driver's License

Responsibilities

• Conduct safety inspections of bridges and tunnels
• Prepare written reports on structural conditions
• Perform in-depth inspections using non-destructive testing methods, mechanized access equipment and/or climbing gear
• Perform post-incident bridge inspections and recommend actions
• Coordinate with bridge owners and agencies on inspection schedules, traffic control, railroad access, etc.
• Perform lead worker responsibilities including instructing, assigning work, coaching, training, and providing input on staffing decisions
