Description

You will own end-to-end accounting activities on the Platform Accounting team at Airbnb, ensuring accurate GAAP reporting and SOX compliance while driving scalable processes and automation. You'll collaborate cross-functionally to support new products and strategic initiatives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

Requirements

• 6+ years of relevant experience, ideally including public accounting or high-growth tech environment.
• B.A. or B.S. in Accounting or Finance.
• CPA certification required.
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP and revenue recognition.
• ERP proficiency (Oracle Fusion highly preferred); experience with Alteryx or SQL preferred.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with high-volume, multi-currency transactions.
• Ability to own projects end-to-end.
• Clear communication skills.
• Adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to define and implement internal controls.

Responsibilities

• Manage the monthly close and financial reporting process, including journal entries, reconciliations, variance analysis, and stakeholder communication.
• Support platform accounting impacting income statement and balance sheet, ensuring GAAP reporting and SOX compliance.
• Serve as subject matter expert for accounting policies and systems, supporting new products and system changes.
• Drive process improvements and ERP optimization to meet SLA/KPI targets.
• Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, Procurement, Legal, and Collections teams.
• Leverage data and automation tools such as Alteryx, SQL, and AI-enabled workflows to analyze trends, risks, and opportunities.
• Maintain documentation for accounting systems and workflows.
• Contribute to ad hoc projects and strategic finance initiatives.
