💼 About This Role

You'll join the Edge Protocols team at Fastly, developing and maintaining network software that handles every incoming client request. You'll enhance protocols like TLS, HTTP, and QUIC while collaborating across teams to shape the technical roadmap. This role offers the chance to contribute to open source projects like h2o and picotls.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Write, test, and deploy C and Rust code.
• Enhance and maintain network software implementing TLS, HTTP, QUIC.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on technical roadmap.
• Mentor and support professional growth of engineers.

📋 Requirements

• 7+ years of domain relevant engineering experience.
• Production experience with C, C++, and/or Rust.
• Experience with Linux systems and network programming.
• Experience building and maintaining distributed infrastructure.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with web/Internet protocols (HTTP, TLS, DNS, TCP/IP, UDP, QUIC).
• Proficient in Perl, Go, or similar high level languages.
• Comfortable working in a geographically distributed team.
