Description
You will serve as the technical owner for bearing configuration and life analysis, rotor dynamic stability assessments, dynamic seal performance, and associated development testing. You'll develop analytical models, design and validate bearing configurations in cryogenic applications, and maintain the top-level turbopump CAD assembly.
Requirements
- M.Sc. degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering.
- Exceptional knowledge of rotor dynamics and experience with Timoshenko FE rotor dynamic models and commercial software.
- Strong understanding of bearing systems, tribology, and failure modes, preferably in cryogenic applications.
- Strong knowledge of dynamic seals in rocket engine turbopumps.
- Proficiency in 3D CAD programs (SolidWorks or Siemens NX preferred) and PDM/PLM systems.
Responsibilities
- Develop rotodynamic models for stability and critical speed mapping, refining based on test data.
- Design and validate bearing configurations in cryogenic applications; analyze bearing health from test data and hardware inspections.
- Develop, analyze, and validate dynamic seal concepts (labyrinth, brush, face contact seals) for performance and wear.
- Lead seal and bearing development test campaigns including planning, instrumentation, execution, and data interpretation.
- Maintain top-level turbopump CAD assembly, lead release of manufacturing drawings, and define rotor balancing strategies.
