Description

You will design and develop the Starship Flight Termination System hardware, including explosive devices and integration designs, from concept through delivery. You'll own the entire development process, partner with regulatory bodies, and solve challenging problems at the intersection of safety-critical hardware and high explosives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 1+ years experience in mechanical design and/or hands-on manufacturing
• Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills
• Experience with LSDYNA/ANSYS, BlastX, CHEETA, and/or Hydrocode preferred
• Hands-on experience with high voltage, electronics, or explosives preferred

Responsibilities

• Develop manufacturable explosive devices and robust hardware integration designs
• Validate reliability through rigorous testing (shock, vibration, thermal cycling, live fire)
• Design experiments, develop fixturing, and create technical reports
• Partner with manufacturing, production, testing, and supply chain to achieve high build rate
• Generate detailed drawings, specifications, analysis, and risk assessments
