Description

You will build, modify, and maintain prototype autonomous vehicles and test platforms, integrating mechanical and electrical components. Fabricate custom parts using rapid prototyping tools, execute test plans, and collaborate with engineers to iterate on hardware. This role is ideal for a hands-on maker who thrives in a fast-paced R&D environment.

Requirements

• Proven hands-on experience building or customizing vehicles, robotic systems, drones, or RC vehicles
• Strong background in mechanical and electrical prototyping and custom fabrication
• Ability to diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, or system integration issues
• Experience with rapid prototyping tools (3D printers, laser cutters, welders)
• Detail-oriented and organized with maintaining a prototyping garage or shop

Responsibilities

• Build, modify, and maintain prototype autonomous vehicles and test platforms
• Integrate mechanical and electrical components such as sensors, actuators, and compute units
• Fabricate brackets, mounts, and custom parts using 3D printers, laser cutters, and welders
• Build and route wire harnesses, perform soldering and crimping
• Execute test plans and collect system performance data during in-lab and on-road testing
