Description

As a Group Manager in our Charlotte or Raleigh office, you will lead the North Carolina Division Civil Site Group, overseeing design and construction administration. You'll drive strategic growth, manage client relationships, mentor engineers, and ensure quality on projects involving stormwater, site design, and infrastructure for public and private clients.

Requirements

  • Professional Engineer licensure in North Carolina (or ability to acquire within 3 months)
  • 15+ years of industry experience
  • B.S. Degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • Proficient understanding of AutoCAD and Civil 3D software
  • Excellent communication, strong written, oral, and client relation skills
  • Understanding and knowledge of applicable codes
  • Understanding of North Carolina regulatory agencies and permitting process
  • Experienced in Project Management, including design cost control, project budget control, and QA/QC
  • Able to successfully manage staff both individually and as a team
  • Experience working with public agencies, private entities, and/or municipalities
  • Design experience with site development, local roads, water distribution systems, sanitary sewer, storm sewer, sedimentation erosion control practices, and stormwater best management practices
  • Progressive experience working directly with clients developing relationships, with proven ability to win work
  • Ability to lead, manage, mentor, and grow a dynamic team
  • Strong understanding of project financials and Vision reporting
  • Participate in local civic and professional organizations to promote the Company
  • Work with team leaders of multiple disciplines to provide turnkey design projects

Responsibilities

  • Manage and grow the North Carolina Division Civil Site Group
  • Manage project teams, accountable for staffing, budget, and schedule
  • Contribute to local, regional, and corporate strategic growth initiatives
  • Develop and manage relationships with new and existing clients
  • Represent Benesch at industry and professional engagement events
  • Identify opportunities and lead strategic project pursuits
  • Collaborate on divisional and regional growth strategy
  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers
  • Business development and marketing, including networking, preparation of SOQs, proposals, and contracts
  • Manage design consultants and clients
  • Oversee/quality control for concepts or schematic designs
  • Oversee design concepts into design development and produce construction documents
