You'll contribute directly to upstream Linux kernel development for a flagship consumer product while collaborating with client engineering teams. Your work solves hard problems and goes upstream, helping you build subsystem expertise and grow into technical leadership. This role combines deep kernel work with consulting, requiring an upstream-first mindset.
🎯 What You'll Do
- Contribute to mainline Linux kernel development (schedulers, power management, device drivers).
- Support and optimize Linux for popular consumer devices used by millions.
- Solve hard problems to make Linux do things it currently cannot.
- Partner with client engineering teams and advocate for upstream-first approaches.
📋 Requirements
- Solid Linux kernel development experience, able to navigate unfamiliar subsystems independently.
- Product support experience diagnosing and resolving end-user issues from vague bug reports.
- Strong English communication skills for patch reviews, documentation, and client discussions.
- Self-directed work style thriving in a remote, asynchronous environment.
