๐ผ About This Role
You'll validate project costs and manage procurement for capital construction projects at Base Power, a next-generation power company. Your analysis ensures competitive, justified pricing on contracts and major purchases, directly enabling informed financial decisions. This role combines cost engineering with sourcing in a fast-paced startup environment.
๐ฏ What You'll Do
- Develop independent cost estimates and benchmark bids against market data.
- Manage RFP process for GC contracts, consultant agreements, and vendor purchases.
- Review GC schedules of values, change orders, and cost proposals.
- Maintain cost databases and support budgeting and forecasting.
- Evaluate contractor qualifications and maintain approved vendor list.
๐ Requirements
- 5+ years in construction cost management, procurement, or quantity surveying.
- Proven ability to develop independent cost estimates across project phases.
- Experience managing competitive RFP processes for GC and consultant proposals.
- Working knowledge of construction contracts (AIA, EJCDC) and change order procedures.
โจ Nice to Have
- B.S. in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, or Civil Engineering.
- Proficiency with RSMeans, Sage Estimating, or Procore.
- Experience in commercial, industrial, or manufacturing environments.
