Description

You will develop and own launch vehicle and payload thermal environments, applying first principles to define thermal environments, guide vehicle thermal architecture, correlate models with test and flight data, and assess payloads to ensure thermals stay within limits.

Requirements

  • Degree in Mechanical, Aerospace Engineering or similar field
  • 2+ years industry experience in Aerospace, Automotive, Nuclear, or HVAC
  • Strong understanding of heat transfer, electronics, internal flow, aerodynamics
  • Experience with Thermal Desktop, THERMICA, or NX SST
  • Experience with experimental test methods and data post-processing

Responsibilities

  • Perform heat transfer analysis for conduction, convection, and radiation
  • Define in-space and vehicle thermal environments
  • Conduct thermal analyses of propellant, gas, and tank interactions
  • Work with design and test engineers to iterate design concepts and determine test requirements
  • Support, process, and interpret ground test and flight data
