You'll design and deliver precision optical mechanisms for space-borne payloads at K2 Space, a fast-growing startup building the largest satellites ever flown. Your work directly impacts missions from LEO to deep space, with your first hardware flying in 18 months.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Deliver architectural design and tolerancing of optical mechanisms
• Collaborate with optical and bus teams to define requirements
• Own program deliverables and schedules throughout development
• Evaluate and select manufacturing equipment for specialty processes

📋 Requirements

• Bachelor's in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• 5+ years of experience in optics or electromechanical mechanisms
• Deep experience with CAD and FEA software (e.g., NX, Simcenter)
• 2+ years with programming languages (Python, Rust, C++, MATLAB)

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with flexure-guided mechanisms
• Experience with voice-coil or piezo driven mechanisms
• Direct experience with fine-pointing and line-of-sight stabilization
