Description
You will create a safe, structured, and values-driven school environment by responding to student behavior concerns in real time, guiding students toward accountability, and building strong relationships. As the first point of contact for behavior incidents, you will implement culture systems, supervise key periods like lunch and recess, and support student re-entry after incidents.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
- 6 months of experience working with students in a school, summer camp, after-school, or youth-serving environment
- Strong command of all Google Suite programs
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships
- Ability to remain calm, firm, and empathetic in challenging situations
- Willingness to learn and implement school culture systems
- Complete and pass pre-employment fingerprinting and reference check process
- Legally eligible to work in the United States
Responsibilities
- Supervise Lunch and Recess periods
- Supervise after-school student consequence reflections
- Coordinate alternate classroom placements
- Serve as first stop for student behavior incidents, classroom removals, and referrals
- Respond promptly to behavior concerns and provide immediate intervention and de-escalation
- Facilitate student reflection conversations and restorative responses
- Support student accountability through classroom push-in or class removal and morning check-in processes
- Determine appropriate next steps within behavior protocols and escalate when necessary
- Support student re-entry to class after incidents
- Coordinate meetings with families, students, and staff
- Respond to violations of school policies (attendance, uniform, electronics)
- Support school community discussions on behavior, discipline, culture, peer mediation, and SEL
- Facilitate student investigations
- Monitor school-sanctioned after school activities
- Maintain visible and active presence in hallways, common areas, arrival, transitions, lunch, recess, and dismissal
- Reinforce school norms, routines, and expectations consistently
- Support implementation of school-wide culture systems
- Communicate with families about routine behavior incidents
- Partner with caregivers for student accountability and growth
- Refer complex family situations to Assistant Principal
- Support teachers with behavior response, classroom removals, and re-entry planning
- Help staff understand behavior referral processes
- Collaborate with counselors, social workers, and support staff
- Document behavior incidents accurately and in a timely manner
- Track follow-up actions and ensure completion of interventions
- Support data collection on behavior and culture trends
