Description

You will support a16z's Consumer, AI Apps, and Speedrun portfolio companies with capital raising and M&A advisory, perform valuation analyses, develop presentation materials, and conduct industry research. This role requires cross-functional collaboration with investment and operating teams to drive outcomes for portfolio companies.

Requirements

• 2-4 years of corporate finance experience in technology-oriented sectors
• Preferable prior experience: corporate development, investment banking in technology sector (M&A), management consulting, or other finance roles with capital raising and M&A focus
• Solid understanding of the venture ecosystem and emerging trends
• Ability to build trust with team members, entrepreneurs, and capital network
• Low ego, high empathy, effective collaboration with diverse teams
• Ability to manage multiple priorities, contribute new ideas, navigate ambiguity
• Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills
• Proven ability to multi-task and apply initiative and creativity
• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or technical field preferred

Responsibilities

• Support portfolio companies with transactional work including capital raising and M&A advisory
• Perform valuation analyses for investment and M&A execution
• Assist in execution of financing strategic processes and portfolio analysis
• Develop presentation materials for internal and external audiences
• Conduct primary research on industry developments and trends
• Perform comprehensive company and industry research, portfolio and benchmarking analyses
• Map and maintain relationships with the broader capital ecosystem
