💼 About This Role

You'll join Shepherd, an AI-native commercial insurance platform, to underwrite complex construction projects for high-hazard industries. Your core impact will be leveraging real-time data from construction tech partners to make fast, informed risk decisions. This role is central to building fully autonomous underwriting for the infrastructure behind the AI boom.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Develop and negotiate pricing, coverage, and terms for new business and renewals
• Identify and target accounts that fit Shepherd's underwriting appetite
• Leverage AI and technology to make quick, informed underwriting decisions
• Manage producer relationships and close deals with internal and external partners

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of commercial underwriting experience in Construction, Casualty, or Builder's Risk
• Proven success in marketing, producer management, and new business development
• Strong background in risk analysis and construction/casualty underwriting
• Knowledge of compliance, coverage, products, and pricing strategies

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience in startup or fast-paced environment
• Familiarity with construction tech platforms like Procore, Autodesk, OpenSpace
