Description

You will oversee daily accounting functions, including accounts receivable and tax compliance, working closely with the Assistant Controller to ensure accuracy and efficiency. This hybrid role, based in NYC, supports month-end close, audit preparations, and special projects in a high-growth finance technology environment.

Requirements

• 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably with a focus on accounts receivable and tax compliance
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• CPA or equivalent certification is a plus
• Strong understanding of GAAP
• Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax regulations
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
• Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experience with ERP systems is a plus
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent analytical and quantitative skills
• Ability to learn and work with scalable systems in a high-growth environment

Responsibilities

• Oversee and manage day-to-day accounting functions
• Prepare and enter journal entries accurately and timely
• Provide support and guidance to team members
• Collaborate with Assistant Controller for review and quality control
• Assist with audit preparations and coordinate with external auditors
• Lead and manage the accounts receivable process
• Support month-end close and fill in for Assistant Controller as needed
• Support various accounting projects and process improvements
• Manage preparation and filing of federal, state, and local tax returns
• Ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations
• Maintain organized records of tax compliance documents
• Support ad hoc reporting requests
