💼 About This Role

You'll build ML platforms to accelerate molecular design and drug discovery at Calico. Your work will close the design-test-learn cycle by scaling ML infrastructure across the company. You'll translate advanced methods into scalable code and partner with biology-fluent researchers on real-world problems.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Own end-to-end ML pipeline from data ingestion to model deployment
• Build and scale core ML platform components (APIs, libraries, datastores)
• Optimize training and serving stack for accelerator utilization
• Prototype new modeling ideas and deploy into drug discovery pipeline

📋 Requirements

• 5+ years of relevant ML software engineering experience
• Strong software engineering skills in model training, serving, or evaluation
• Deep expertise in Python and JAX or PyTorch
• Willing to work onsite at least four days a week

✨ Nice to Have

• Large-scale data processing with Ray, Spark, or BigQuery
• Familiarity with biological datasets and formats (BAM, TIFF, Zarr, AnnData)
• Advanced degree in computer science or relevant field
