Description

You will design, model, analyze, and test guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) systems for Rocket Lab's launches and missions. Working on the Mission Formulation Team, you'll conduct trade studies, mission analyses, and detailed design for launch vehicles including HASTE and Electron. Your work directly supports new launch concepts and classified missions.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree and 2+ years (Engineer II) or 5+ years (Senior I) industry experience in GNC/ADCS
• Understanding of orbital mechanics and/or closed-loop control systems, preferably launch vehicles
• Experience with trajectory optimization
• Proven experience developing real-time control and/or estimation algorithms in autonomous vehicles
• Active Secret security clearance or ability to obtain one

Responsibilities

• Act as GNC contact for Business Development on proposals and mission definition
• Develop launch and mission operational concepts
• Design orbital and suborbital trajectories
• Work with customers for mission-specific requirements engineering
• Conduct Monte Carlo simulation analyses for launch and mission operations verification
