You'll join the Kernel team at hyperexponential, building the core execution engine for an AI-powered insurance platform. You'll design and ship backend features that improve correctness, performance, and reliability for critical customer model runs, directly impacting high-stakes decisions in a $7 trillion industry.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and deliver backend features in the Kernel execution engine.
• Strengthen a clean, modular Kernel architecture.
• Build automated tests and observability for complex execution scenarios.
• Partner with adjacent engineering teams to shape Kernel behaviour.
• Own work from design through rollout and monitoring.

📋 Requirements

• Built and shipped backend systems in Rust, Python, or C/C++ production environment.
• Strong systems thinking around execution, concurrency, and memory management.
• Delivered backend features where correctness, performance, and resource efficiency were critical.
• Designed and implemented effective testing and observability for complex backend behaviour.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with Rust in production systems.
• Background in high-stakes or financial systems.
• Experience with domain-specific languages or execution engines.
