💼 About This Role

You'll lead the design and evolution of Rune's distributed platform that powers military logistics across cloud and edge environments. Your core impact is scaling a distributed mesh network for thousands of nodes in low-bandwidth, adversarial conditions. You'll define the technical spine of the company and build systems where most software cannot operate.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Architect and implement distributed systems for cloud and edge environments.
• Design distributed data models with replication and consistency strategies.
• Build a multi-node mesh synchronization layer across thousands of devices.
• Establish performance SLAs and observability standards across the stack.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years building and scaling distributed systems in production.
• Proven track record leading engineering teams with hands-on architecture.
• Deep expertise in backend systems design including APIs and scalability.
• Strong experience with distributed data systems and consistency models.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience building multi-region distributed systems at scale (e.g., Google, Stripe).
• Familiarity with CRDTs or custom synchronization systems.
• Background in edge computing or offline-first systems.
