Description

You will create layouts for in-house board designs at SpaceX, partnering closely with Hardware Development Engineers to optimize schematics and iterating designs for the best solutions. Contribute to a variety of designs from radio phased arrays to solar power converters.

Requirements

• Bachelor's in electrical engineering + 1+ years PCB layout experience OR 3+ years PCB layout experience in lieu of degree
• Experience with ECAD libraries and library configuration management
• Understanding of design for manufacturability, assembly, and test
• Experience with Mentor Xpedition or Altium Designer (Mentor Xpedition preferred)
• Experience with mixed analog/digital designs, high speed buses, FPGA, DRAM, CPU, power supplies, DC-DC converters

Responsibilities

• Determine layer stackup, component placement, routing feasibility, and signal routing of digital, analog, RF, and power conversion PCBs
• Library creation and maintenance
• Create and release fabrication documentation
• Collaborate with internal teams and vendors to improve design rules and DFM/DFT guidelines
• Utilize PCB design tools, evaluate new tools, and train team members
