You'll shape the reliability and performance of Taskrabbit's critical financial infrastructure on the Commerce team. Your impact will be felt across billing, payment processing, payouts, and taxes/fees. This role offers the opportunity to lead cross-team technical initiatives and champion engineering rigor and operational excellence.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define multi-quarter technical roadmap for Commerce domains
• Lead complex, cross-team technical initiatives with Stripe and Sovos
• Translate ambiguous business goals into clear technical strategies
• Elevate reliability and observability for money-flow systems
• Champion Spec-Driven Development with AI tools

📋 Requirements

• 7+ years professional backend engineering with Staff-level impact
• Deep expertise in building and evolving large Ruby on Rails applications
• Strong SQL and data modeling for financial use cases (Postgres, Snowflake)
• Hands-on experience with async/event-driven systems (Kafka) handling financial data

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience in fintech, billing, or e-commerce domains
• Hands-on AI tools experience with Claude, Augment CLI
• Hands-on work integrating with Stripe, tax engines (e.g., Sovos)
