Description

As a Senior Engineer on Calendly's App Platform team, you will build foundational platform capabilities that power product engineering teams. You'll design and maintain services like analytics, feature flagging, and real-time UX infrastructure, enabling data-driven decisions and controlled releases. This role involves technical leadership, cross-functional collaboration, and operational excellence to support scaling engineering efforts.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience with focus on backend and distributed systems
• Deep experience in service-oriented architecture and microservice patterns
• Proven experience building high-traffic, high-availability platforms in production
• Strong proficiency in building internal tools, frameworks, and SDKs
• Authorized to work lawfully in the US; no immigration sponsorship offered

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain platform services and frameworks using Ruby/Rails and Go
• Contribute to architectural decisions and technical strategy for platform services
• Own significant projects from concept to production, such as real-time data infrastructure
• Partner with product managers and engineers to translate needs into robust platform solutions
• Ensure reliability and performance through monitoring, testing, and incident response
