💼 About This Role

You'll serve as the primary security enabler for Engineering, Product, and Design teams, building practices and tooling that allow developers to move fast without introducing risk. You'll report to the Director of IT and play a critical role in protecting systems educators and students rely on daily. This role is central to building the security foundation in a compliance-critical EdTech environment.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Champion secure development practices including threat modeling and code reviews
• Maintain core security infrastructure like firewall management and access controls
• Own IAM strategy across cloud, SaaS, and internal tooling
• Design and execute threat modeling exercises for AI-powered EdTech platform

📋 Requirements

• At least 5 years in application or cloud security
• Hands-on experience with SAST, DAST, and SCA tooling
• Experience with cloud-native security within AWS or Google Cloud
• Proven track record of embedding directly into engineering teams

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience supporting SOC 2, FERPA, or COPPA programs
• Familiarity with AI/LLM application security
• Experience as a solo security function in a high-growth startup
