💼 About This Role

You'll lead Dakota's compliance and regulatory program as we scale from a U.S. MSB into a globally regulated stablecoin infrastructure platform. You'll own trust-level supervision in the U.S. and European EMI/CASP authorization, shaping the company's regulatory future. Compliance is embedded as code, not layered on after the fact.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Lead progression from state-level readiness to trust-level supervision in the U.S.
• Design and implement European compliance architecture under EMI and MiCA CASP requirements.
• Oversee BSA/AML, sanctions, and transaction monitoring programs end-to-end.
• Partner with engineering to embed compliance controls directly into the product.
• Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing compliance team.

📋 Requirements

• 10+ years in compliance, risk, or regulatory leadership at a regulated financial institution or fintech.
• Experience with BSA/AML programs and regulatory exam management.
• Knowledge of U.S. money transmitter licensing and state regulatory frameworks.
• Experience with European EMI/CASP licensing and MiCA regulations.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and scale compliance teams in a high-growth environment.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with digital assets, stablecoins, or crypto compliance.
• Familiarity with compliance-as-code approaches and tooling like Sumsub, Unit21, TRM Labs.
• Prior experience as a Chief Compliance Officer or senior compliance executive.
