You'll lead data architecture for PostgreSQL and MongoDB across distributed services, owning reliability, performance, and governance. Your core impact is defining standards, improving scalability, and mentoring engineers. This role stands out with exposure to Elixir/Phoenix, Go, and AI/ML-adjacent data patterns.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Define PostgreSQL architecture standards across services
• Lead HA/DR strategy for Aurora PostgreSQL and RDS clusters
• Improve read/write scalability patterns and connection management
• Partner with teams on Oban/Ecto workloads and migration risk
• Establish production observability for database health and performance

📋 Requirements

• 8+ years running PostgreSQL in production at scale
• Deep PostgreSQL expertise: planner, vacuum, replication, tuning
• Experience with Postgres in cloud environments (Aurora/RDS)
• Background in production incident management and reliability improvements

✨ Nice to Have

• MongoDB production experience with replica/sharding patterns
• Exposure to AI/ML-adjacent data patterns like vector/search extensions
• Familiarity with Elixir/Phoenix + Ecto and Oban job systems
