Description

You will own the full lifecycle of mechanical systems for space-based data centers, from concept design to orbital operation. Spearhead development of structures for spacecraft and payload, perform structural and thermal analysis, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver hardware rapidly and iteratively.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• Proficiency with advanced CAD software, ideally NX and Teamcenter
• Experience with FEA software for structural analysis, ideally Ansys
• Minimum 2+ years hands-on experience in mechanical design, analysis, testing, or manufacturing
• Strong understanding and application of GD&T principles

Responsibilities

• Spearhead development of spacecraft and payload structures from concept to production
• Create and manage detailed CAD models from component to spacecraft level
• Perform structural and thermal analysis using FEA and hand calculations
• Own lifecycle of mechanical components from concept through manufacturing, testing, and deployment
• Design and execute comprehensive test plans for launch and space environments
