Description

As a Senior Manager on the Privacy Data Security Team at Airbnb, you will lead high-impact privacy initiatives, define technical requirements for compliance, and ensure privacy-by-design principles are integrated into products and infrastructure at scale. You'll collaborate with the Chief Privacy Officer, Legal, engineering, and data science teams to manage privacy risks and enable responsible innovation.

Requirements

• 15+ years total experience, with 5+ years in technical program/project management or privacy engineering.
• Deep understanding of large-scale 'Big Data' stores and data governance/management.
• Strong familiarity with AI/ML development lifecycle including LLMs, Generative AI, and AI Agents.
• Strong familiarity with Privacy Enhancing Technologies (PETs) such as encryption, de-identification, and AI interpretability techniques.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Experience with privacy frameworks and regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Hands-on experience with privacy processes like PIAs and records of processing.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with technical teams to identify and manage company-wide privacy and responsible technology risks.
• Lead definition and implementation of company-wide standards, practices, and patterns for personal data protection and management.
• Work with Legal, Data Science, Data Governance, and InfoSec to introduce Privacy by Design principles in products and infrastructure, leveraging PETs like cryptography and anonymization.
• Create privacy training for technical roles, including data engineers, developers, and data scientists.
