💼 About This Role

You'll join Notion's Data Platform team to build the core data infrastructure powering AI, analytics, and search. You'll design and operate the data lakehouse, own critical pipelines, and advance encryption-by-design. This role focuses on large-scale performance and meeting stringent enterprise requirements.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design and evolve the data lakehouse components (Iceberg/Hudi/Delta tables, catalogs, schema management).
• Own critical data pipelines and services (Spark, Kafka) for reliable batch/streaming data movement.
• Advance Enterprise Key Management (EKM) and encryption-by-design in data workflows.
• Improve data access, auditability, and residency primitives for fine-grained control.
• Drive reliability, observability, and on-call improvement for the data stack.

📋 Requirements

• 2+ years building and operating data platforms or large-scale infrastructure.
• Strong skills in Python, Scala, or Typescript and comfortable with SQL.
• Hands-on experience with Spark or similar distributed processing systems.
• Experience with Kafka or equivalent streaming systems and CDC/ingestion patterns.

• Experience in applied data platform settings like Trust & Safety or enterprise features.
• Practical understanding of data access control, encryption, and auditing.
• Experience with Databricks, Unity Catalog, Lake Formation, or similar catalog/governance systems.
