💼 About This Role

You'll co-lead preclinical medicinal chemistry programs from hit to candidate nomination at a clinical stage biotech. Your work will directly advance CNS drug discovery and address unmet patient needs in psychiatric disorders. This role offers significant impact within a small, collaborative team.

🎯 What You'll Do

• Design medicinal chemistry strategies for preclinical programs.
• Manage chemistry and screening at external CROs.
• Conduct multi-parameter optimization for brain-penetrant candidates.
• Provide project updates to leadership and cross-functional teams.

📋 Requirements

• PhD in Chemistry or Medicinal Chemistry with 10+ years pharmaceutical experience.
• Contemporary knowledge of medicinal chemistry and related disciplines.
• Prior experience in CNS drug discovery with brain-penetrant compounds.
• Track record of managing projects through CRO partners.

✨ Nice to Have

• Experience with structure-based drug design.
• Successful hit finding strategies including scaffold-hopping.
• Patent strategy experience.
