Description

You will own the design, development, and validation of Interstellar Lab's electronic systems for autonomous biospheric pods. Collaborate with mechanical and embedded software engineers to create reliable, high-performance electronics supporting automation, control, and monitoring, including space-rated hardware.

Requirements

• 6+ years of experience in electronic design for industrial, aerospace, or consumer products
• Proficiency in schematic design, PCB layout, and DFM/DFT principles
• Experience with EMC/EMI mitigation and validation testing
• Familiarity with microcontrollers (STM32 or similar) and communication buses (RS-485, I2C, SPI)
• Experience managing EMS/SMT suppliers and prototype production

Responsibilities

• Design and layout electronic schematics and PCBs using KiCad or Altium
• Select components, define stackups, and ensure manufacturability and serviceability
• Lead mechanical and electrical integration with product and systems teams
• Plan and implement EMC mitigation and reliability strategies
• Conduct board bring-up, debugging, and validation testing
